I lay my head upon your shoulder
Within a moment I am enfolded
In the comforting arms of your love
Pure, strong and true they lift me up
When life seems to get me down

I close my eyes slowly
Concentrating on the sound
Of your beating heart
It soothes my weariness
Bidding me to draw nearer still

The feel of your touch
Washes gently over me
Like a cool summer breeze
You alone hold the power
To rejuvenate my spirit

Your fingers smooth my hair
As you whisper softly in my ear
The words are meant to ease
For they are full of love
I lie there basking in them

Your body exudes a warmth
That reaches my very core
Where it ignites a flame
Which will burn for you
From this moment forward

In the shelter of your arms
I relax knowing I am safe
From all harm here
I begin to drift off quietly
As dreams intertwine with reality

You lie there holding me
Silently keeping watch
As I slumber peacefully
In the calm harbor
Of your everlasting love

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Lone Wolf, this is completely beautiful.  You have captured the safe haven of love, just wonderfully.  My compliments!

Just simply beautiful.

This I personally know the best.  The way you penned it brought a tear of joy to my eye.  A better job describing it could not have been done, ever.  Thanks for sharing.
