"A Realization" Looking up My eyes are greeted by Carolina blue sky As my thoughts turn to you I let out a contented sigh I am not sure what exactly It is that you see in me All I know is I love you today Forever, always…an eternity People question my faith How is that I just know? Well…I’ll tell you a secret I really don’t…I am just letting this love flow Years of heartache Have taken their toll on this heart Now it’s time for me To make my mark…focus on a brand new start You are the one I want by my side The one I want to share with all my tomorrows Never do I want us to part For then our lives would be full of sorrows I know that our age difference is crazy That people will stop and stare But I must say that I really in truly simply do not care Your heart and soul Match mine in every single way God gave you to me That is something I shall never throw away I always thought love was not for me That it was something that was a dream It was always just out of my grasp Or perhaps that’s just how it seemed But then one day Suddenly clear out of the blue My life was forever changed The day that I met and fell in love with you Once I was lost I was scared and alone Now my heart and soul are happy I finally feel like I have a home That safe heaven is in your arms I think we are destined…though fragile as we may be Please whatever you do…do not leave I’ll wait for you…please wait for me But if you must go Don’t break my heart slow Just be honest and straight with me And then just simply go But do not look back Unless you want to see me cry I don’t know where this will lead But I’m willing to try I’ve never loved another The way that I love you Please believe what I say It’s all so very true One day this will all make sense The pieces will come together But no matter what happens You will have a piece of my heart…always and forever Amy M.
