Casablanca

Before tomorrow is over two men will lose their life.
One man told the truth and one man lied of how a woman died.
One was innocent and one the cause of her death.
No one will wait to get the story straight.
Soon a Casablanca firing squad will clear up this mess.
Only a few days ago a weary traveler had pulled into this Saharan City.
He stepped into the Alababba Club and layed his baggage down.
And this is how he met her though she was sitting many tables away.
Admiring eyes took each other in as two hearts memorized that day.
Who might be that lovely lady he kindly ask a belly dancer
She bumped and swayed as she did say "Why that's the beautiful Anna Miller."
But a warning to you my friend for she is already taken.
You see Monsieur DuValle has already spoken.
Anna is his alone and if any man tries to win her heart
that man will die a quick painful death as he cut's away his heart.
Perhaps these words the belly dancer spoke would scare a lesser man
but to this weary traveler fear was a word he could never understand.
For many years he traveled thru this big world fighting against oppression
and now he was prepared to give this man that held Anna down an enlightening lesson.
And as he and Anna looked into each others eyes they liked what they could see so it was not too long before they walked outside to talk beneath swaying palm tree's.
In the moonlight the shadow's they now part.
Silky palm trees blow in ocean breeze as Anna Miller and the stranger share stories from the heart.
Soon a kiss has gained center stage on lovers avenue.
Thou danger is near love is in the air and life seems fresh and new.
It was she that caught the gleam of Monsier DuValles blade in the moonlight glow.
She suddenly pushed me away to save my life but how was I to know.
And how could I bear this grief to know the sword meant for me was thrust thru Anna Millers heart instead.
Now he lurched one more time at me and I plucked that sword from his hand so easily just as the
gendarme's approached the scene.
The rest is history and it boiled down to the one they chose to believe
and in this case it wasn't him and it wasn't me.
The judge seemed to know how to put this tragic event to rest.
He simply sentenced us both to death.
This was how justice was dispensed to foreigners in Casablanca.
Why I wasn't Arabic or French and Monsieur DuValle was a local rogue of which they would easily dispense.
If we give you a few last words perhaps you will now confess it seems sort of silly to take a lie to your death.
Just tell us which of you was the real killer of the lovely Anna Miller.
The first man said "I'm innocent" and the second said "Who's he trying to impress?"
The French foreign legion will carry out this deed.
Four men stand on the firing line yet only two bullets will they need.
And now it's over as the sun crashes to the ground
and the gendarmes slowly approach the two dead men lying on the ground.
The first has an evil frown now permanantly frozen upon his face and the second possesses a beautiful smile that somehow seems out of place.
The first will burn in hell forever for the evil deeds he's done and the second already in the arms of his sweet angel where he and Anna Miller will forever live as one.

Words fail me...what this message brings. You painted a very raw moment in time... this I will keep. The olde time story of beginning of time - still continues even through literature books. Don't delete this poem, private library is where I'll keep mine. LP

Day in Day out...My love for you grows.
Without you, my life would be empty. So I hold my mustard seed of faith in us.
