“TEAR DROPS IN MY BEER” by Bill Charles ~~~~ Kerplunk, went something into my beer, every so often, as I looked, it would just appear… Didn’t know exactly, what it was, so I went and asked my good friend, Buzz… He didn’t know either, so he said, well that really scared me, and I went to bed… But I did get up this morning, all alone, and I didn’t remember her name, it was unknown… That’s when I knew, why I was in such a fright, I chased her around the lighthouse, that moonlit night… And I stubbed my big toe, on the railing, when she asked me, to take her out sailing… So the moral of this poem, ah, who knows, maybe stand in the sand, as the wind blows… I know my big toe hurts, the pain won’t disappear, perhaps that’s why, “There’s Teardrops In My Beer”… ~~~~ |

I agree with Brad Majors, I was thinking it sounded like a great honky tonk tune. Even so, I enjoyed the read. ![]() I say it that way cuz it was always such an embarrassment as a teen-ager for kids to hear what my mom and dad were listenin' to, honky tonk. |

nakdthoughts - a'hhhh, perhaps a smile and a sigh of things to come. I'll remember the kahlua, two or three.... jwesley - well, I've read a couple of the replies that mention song, and I think that I will write some music to it, and see what happens. "Garth, where are you"! VAS - as I mentioned, a song cometh. Now that must have been something to hear the ole honky tonk coming from the room. Thanks for the kind words. |

A song from BC would probably be better than a song from GB any day!! ![]() Great one Bill!! ---------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Bill, Loved your poem. Here's a little moral though, "it's not the getting or losing of love that makes you cry ...it's the chasing after it" lol. Write on Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Bill It is nice to see a humorous writing instead of a sad one from you. Nice job. |

In a response to PDV earlier today, I'd speculated about the relative tastes of tear salted drinks. *S* So of course I couldn't resist reading this. *S* My sympathies to your big toe... is your friend Buzz the same as mine? *G* |
