state of confusion

Gibbous Moon

Years had passed
since my thoughts ran to you,
memories ticked away,
scars, the only relics
of time spent as one.

Late last night,
when the moon was gibbous,
you reappeared,
haunting my telephone
with unchanged charm.

Sleeping senses
rushed back to meet me
with sudden clarity,
you were always skillful
at zeroing in.

I asked you
about your poetry
was it still as evocative,
what had become of you,
and were you doing well?

The outpour of words
slowed into silences,
you, an apparition,
me, anchored,
our differences great.

Still, a kind of love
ever lingers
and still
a kind of love
ever lingers.

Interesting . . . time's telescope . . . or is it kaleidoscope?
Enjoyed this.

Well, sweet poet, interesting piece.... never have I head of the word gibbous till now. It suits this piece too, its more then half and not totally illuminating.
Isn't it just the mystery of your pieces.

Bob, thank you, kind sir - both can stir us,'
yes?

S Arthur - thanks, hmmm, it could be either!

Park, I've always wanted to use that word in a poem - ever since I went to a planetarium with my son a few years ago and heard it for the first time.

When we ask...

quote:
I asked you
about your poetry
was it still as evocative,
what had become of you,
and were you doing well?

it shows we still care...

enjoyed!
