Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-05-03 07:56 AM

they

‘tween Twain and
Tennyson
Rod and Keats

somewhere on paper
‘neath my sheets

some inspired
t’wards passion
in word

they come ‘round
soon
to be heard

feeding on
glimmers of ghost

Wm would raise
a glass
in toast

to see the seekers
in their search

to write of love
or slender birch

they that teach
a child
to read

others who on
word
would feed

sustenance being
a volume
or two

as pages turn,
the soul
renewed

they find
entwined
their rhyme

of heart

they learn
their mind
can find

its part

and pray
they with tongue
will forever
speak

while other
theys, their
words, will
tweak

come be among
the countless theys
that lift their quill
and write their praise
that pass the song,
the torch, the living

that write, to write
they, that are giving

they, that tell the story clear
in form of ballad
we hold dear

our histories, our compassion
flies

never buried ‘neath Sol’s
blue skies

pick up the book
there, on the shelf
revive, with they,
that, within your self

seek the black
upon the white

and thank God they
took
to write

thank God they
were bound
to write

thank God we
are one
of them

they, that keep
ink fresh
within their pen

Yes, I thank God for the privilege to write, I used to hide my writings in a mattress now I'll  never hide them again.

Karilea, your heart must be beautiful, it flows so freely from your pen...a lovely gift.

Exactly Sun...
for those who were here before us...
so that we may now achieve and find inspire..
and also....
as I was reading this.. I was reminded that in these days of comps and internet...
scrolling with a mouse can not and should not
replace the pleasures and rewards of reading a book.
very cool write... VERY COOL...
and a keeper.... and a IWIHWT!!!!!

I miss you so much I cant stand it
Seems like my heart is breaking in two
My head says no, but my soul demands it
Everything I do reminds me of you

I'd have to agree with Mr. Yeats here. Beautiful heart.
