Traffic Lights The light is green Throttling engine hard and mean Approaching closer to the scene The light flashes yellow, Telling me to play it mellow And slow down the car, like a good fellow The light flashes red, The color of which I dread Should I stop or go instead...... A sudden pause of hesitation Then a burst of acceleration Speeding through the intersection The lights flash red and blue and white A police car gaining in my rear view site Why did I run that stupid light Dad’s going to tear my hide tonight! All right pull over buddy! This is the Love Police I’d like to see your licence, ownership and insurance? Did you know that you went through a red light back there? Well it seems you like to run red lights through Passions! Could you step out of the car please?! Do you have anything your not suppose to have? What’s this??……. a little black book!…. and what’s inside?… POEMS!!!……… Darn!!…I thought that this was going to be my bust of the day! I’m going to let you go with a warning and remember when you come to a red light…. STOP!……Now just turn around,… I’m sending you back to the top! |

And maybe you should slow down on the yellow. Good poem Joe. I'm sure you are very law abiding. Joyce |

You think of some off the wall things to write about...always entertaining! |
