I knew that she was lurking near, her scent was all about. I only meant to stop a while, my back was giving out. I cannot say exactly how this really came to be. I closed my eyes a minute; Life nearly caught up with me. Keeping busy with my chidren, my husband and career, I didn't have to worry much, she couldn't get too near. Without them I am now alone and trying hard to see What to do with all this leisure. Life's catching up with me. I'll welcome her into my home, we'll have a little talk; And depending on the weather, might even take a walk. She'll stroll with me through my garden. I'll serve a cup of tea. She's begging me to take a break, she must catch up with me. So I guess I'll slow it down a bit, might even take a nap; Then poor old Life can ease her pace, and try to close the gap. I guess I didn't know that I was causing misery. I reckon I'll sit down a spell, let Life catch up with me. By Joyce 4/7/2001 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (edited 05-01-2001).] |

Joyce--I loved touch of humor in this...yet, I know just what you mean...sometimes we move so fast...we forget to appreciate her..and that can be serious. Thanks for the reminder. |

Marvelous in every way. Stopping now to watch the squirrel and read your every word. I love the way you sited this poem. "I am not now that which I have been." |

I find that when we're too fast for Life, she has a way of sneaking up on us sometimes. . . ![]() wonderful. . . ------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Joyce, This was humerous, yet a great reminder to stop and smell the roses. We all get so busy in our daily lives, that we do leave life behind. Dawn |

Joyce, sometimes we have to slow it down a bit. Well written. *s* On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free. |
