~*~ It Feels Good To Pray ~*~While others around me bicker, over what seem like such petty things, My dearest friend lives in Extended Care, but still each morning she sings. Somehow yesterday’s problems all seem so very trite and small, I can’t even recall now what bothered me, not one thing at all. This friend has always given me hope, whenever no hope was there. She always listened to me and I know she really cares. She’s never turned away from me, and always had the time, She’s taught me “things” aren’t important, it’s who you are inside. She’s taught me to “smell a rose”, and see the beauty in a book, And to always give back to my fellow man much more than I took. She taught me the important of caring and sharing each and every day, To always give a helping hand or a smile to others along my way. She now sits there paralyzed; and speaks in whispered word, That once vibrant woman of wisdom wants so badly to be heard. She has taught me life lessons over the years as a real Mother probably would, And I would give anything just to see her smile again, anything that I could. Now it will take time and patience to determine her destiny, So we usually sit reading, just three friends, Maggie, God, and me. I learned something new from her that happened by accident today, She taught me to fold my hands, so the two of us could pray. We prayed that he would give us both the strength to carry on, I saw her sitting there praying even after from her room I’d gone, So I too stood in the hall and prayed that God take this debilitation away, Yes, I learned something new today, and that is - it feels good to pray! Oh, good!~ We've hit on several of my favorite subjects and I used only one kleenex. This was lovely and spiritual. As we grow as humans, we frequently learn: "keep it simple, stupid". How beautifully you have drawn the soul of love and trust. Please add other superlatives, I must return to work. Know that you are special. "I am not now that which I have been." |

Sharon, this was so lovely. There is something so very profound when one prays with a friend. It's amazing how lives are touched. Beautiful art and my favorite song. Kate Blessings Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. |
