Wind Blows

a VIP friend
reminded me
wind blows
life has trod upon my heart
it sometimes has left
deep footprints
weighed me down
but flowers,
tender souls,
have lifted me,
caressed me,
with tender words,
gentle beauty,
scents sweet,
as nectar for the gods

how glorious
to be able to see
the light and dark of life,
the impression each has made,
the beauty that God
has brought out of each,
in spite of dark’s intent,
in spite of eyes blinded with ignorance
or emotions that would ‘tempt
to stay the light's glow

how wonderful
to have a friend
with sweet words
and caring
and eyes to see
the me of me
He would have me be,
to mirror, willingly,
what he can see-
the who of me. . .
let me believe,
if but in tiny part,
that he has seen my heart,
that I have made a start
in being, in doing
the mission of my life

I do so hope this is not deemed as tooting one's own horn. It is meant only as a desire to grasp even an iota of the encouragement and assurance from a very special friend. To believe that the promise that what we go through makes us who we are is a promise that is showing in my life as having occurred.
