The following poem was written to meet a challenge to write to a painting. After school today, I will try to copy the painting to this message so you may see it. Virginia Salter stunned here under the stars caught up in the piece of it all the prairie sprawled out below me across the river beyond the hills that have always tried to keep us apart yet, they had no power until that horrendous hour when your lips bade me farewell your heart, in its spell, left for the arms of another now, in the middle of my last ride from the caress of your tenderness the sweetness of your crimson lips I contemplate the worth of it all without you life is so very small reduced to gnatdom is my kingdom swallowed up wallowed up in these tears that do not fall to even moisten the sand with memories of you for they have dried in desert winds of your heart having cast me aside as tumbleweeds in Saroya ©May 1, 2001 [This message has been edited by VAS (edited 05-03-2001).] |

enjoyed, and by the way, thank you for the big wording, I only see out of one eye and this made it a joy to read! Kathleen Blake |

This was written with gentle grace. "I am not now that which I have been." |
