A Place To Collect My Thoughts

There's a wall that separates
The land from the sea
At this place of timeless beauty
Is where you may find me

A place where I go
To enjoy the sunshine
A place to feel at peace
When my heart begins to pine

I come here to watch the seagulls
Who always bring me such delight
I've always wondered where they go
During the long dark night

I come here to escape
When my mind needs to be clear
It's also a special place of mine
To think of loved ones, so dear

Somewhat of a loner I am
As I walk along the sand
I watch as many couples
Walk along the beach hand in hand

Such a gift is love
So much I have inside
Although there are many times
My feelings I must hide

So many times just recently
I've put my thoughts and feelings on display
It's with a little sadness and emptiness
That I write this poem today

Excellent writing, and we all seem to need a place to collect our thoughts in private sometimes.
