Dear Lord

some news came my way,
Dear Lord,
a friend
who called to say
she “had a
problem
today”

Dear Lord

her voice was strong
it did not shake
it left my
heart
resembling
aftermaths of
small earthquakes

Dear Lord

her problems, tremendous,
but she called to share,
she said
“you may have to
pick it up from here”

and laid a
responsibility
on my door

Dear Lord

I will take it on
and more

but for a moment
I faltered
questioned my strength
for I would go
to any length

to not let
this friend down;
but for a moment

I faltered
and questioned
abilities

and I asked

Dear Lord

can You see
me through this
give me a sign
that I can take this
load
and make it
mine

Dear Lord

then,
He took my
hand
to write a note
to a friend
who would lend
an ear

not for advice
no, just to share
a burden given
who would also care

Dear Lord

Miracles Happen

the friend wrote back
said “you have strength
and that I have always
seen;
you have abilities
yet to tap ~
you can live
a dream,

“you are able
to carry on
for your friend,
and you

you have my support
you have my love
in all that you
shall do.”

Dear Lord

Miracles Happen

Dear Lord

You took a vessel
of Your love
to share Your words
on wing of dove
to take Your gifts
and remind of Your
plan
that You have, for
woman and man

for in our strengths
even when in doubt
You give one voice
a reason
to shout

“I have faith in you,”

and in Your love,
You find one
to share with those
who falter a bit,
a word,
some comfort,
and that lift

Dear Lord

thank You
for all Your Miracles

and for the voices
that You pass them
through.

I know the Bible says "bear one another's burdens" but sometimes people can drain us.  This reminded me of that verse.

and the sun drips honey."

That's it! Go right to the top of the chain of command and leave those foot soldiers of doubt and destruction behind. Truly an awesome piece.

Lady in White,
This is heartfelt and a faith boost. What timing you display. I needed to hear this. Thank you.

I like Julian's response, and we all have that place in us of hidden strength - just tap into it when someone needs you.  It is a special gift we are given to help others when called upon and you will do it, as "ask and it shall be given".

Lady--How amazing to think of the vehicles of His love...sometimes in such simple things as a listening ear...we are able to see what was there all along. Hugs!

This entire poem is great
but for me
I'll hang on the summation I really love:
"thank You
for all Your Miracles

and for the voices
that You pass them
through."

I love how you write
