The words flow from my pen Like blood from an open wound Gushing forth in streams of color Mirroring the rainbow God sends I sit back in awe as I watch them Cascading from above in perfect harmony Becoming one with my very being Together they intertwine until there is no end Just an infinite fountain of experience Washed in the knowledge of life Waiting patiently to be soaked up On the shores of tomorrow No one knows where it came from But they take solace in knowing It truly does exist in this time That alone is comfort to their weariness Although life is rough at times One thing is a constant throughout The poetry breathes and grows For it is my unending strength I take refuge in the rhymes Rhythms, meter, imagery The cadence of the verse Serves as the conductor When the feeling overcomes me I am swept up in its current Until the symphony of thoughts Come together in a perfect blend The tension mounts as the words Breathe new meaning into life They explode in a thunderous crescendo Echoing through the cavern of my being Until at last pen meets paper Providing an escape from reality Opening a door to a world Where anything is possible I write tales of love and romance Past, present, and future To show you the pathway You need to follow closely Do not allow Satan to deter you For the Son of God awaits He alone bears the scars Of the blood He shed for you Do not let it be in vain Take heed of His message He gave Himself to die So that we may live Paying for our sins and transgressions As He hung suffering on the cross He has blessed me with the talent That allows me to unleash the power The words wash over me Like water immersing the rocks I lose myself to the feeling I get When the words once again flow As they envelop me I am taken under An eternity passes Until alas I emerge Cleansed Free And Renewed All writing comes by the grace of God. -Ralph Waldo Emerson [This message has been edited by Lone Wolf (edited 04-28-2001).] |

"providing an escape from reality" Oh, I don't agree, poetry is very much reality for me. \\ |

Bill: Thank you and I am happy you were touched by this one. It just came pouring out. Marge: It will never stop growing and breathing for any of us. Thank you. Wynter: Amen to that. Never stop believing. Kathleen: I am glad that you found this one. Thank you very much for all you have said and done. It makes me smile to know you are proud of me. wandering glider: I think too many people take what is written upon these pages as fact when most of the time it is nothing but fiction. Just don't believe everything you read here. Joyce: It took all I had to write this one, but it needed to be said. Thank you!! Whiskey: Thank you very much for reading. Tracie: So nice to see you my friend!! I am gld so many have gotten something from this. There is much to be said about the power of forgiveness. It does leave you feeling cleansed and whole again. Thank you for the lovely reply. ~HUGS~ Kathleen: I am smiling so big right now!! You have made my day, sweetheart. I had a feeling you would like this one. All writing comes |
