There are many reasons,
that I've stood by you.
Mainly because I love you.
We have endured,
survived our love.
Persistently and patiently,
wating for a change.
It's been a slow process,
but we all eventually change.
Progressing in our paths,
becoming finally one.
No regrets.
No grudges.
Evolving into new beings.
Where love cannot be judged.
But most of all,
where we respect our love.

Respect has to be the better part of any enduring relationship.  It is difficult to stay with someone for whom you have no respect.  This is a great love poem, my friend, and I felt it deeply as I read!!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

walker - truer words I don't believe could have been written. You have said it in this writing.

This is a subject I've thought a lot about lately...love without respect, is at best a struggle.  Well done!

Like every other living thing, love grows if it is to survive.  Thought provoking poem.  Joyce

words of repect are so true, and not to be taken for granted. The magic of using words can have it's repercussions. Yet at the same time it can be encouraging.   Your poem offers some rays of sun thru the stormy clouds. It encourages new beginnings based on respect, faith, love and life. LP
