The Bridge of Tomorrow
~~~~~~~~~~~~*coco*~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rain beats fast
Against the window pane
And I find myself
Tripping over and over again
In moments of remembering
The darkeness of yesterday...
The stains remain
Bittersweet in taste
Of tears that crawled
Along delicate pores
Of ivory flesh
Trembling in silence
On eyelet pillowcase
And peaking through
These pages blue
I speak of love
Pure and true
No longer running
Or hiding in fear
From the cloak of shadow
That once lurked near
With strength of family
And trusting friend
The journey was taken
Where fear is foresaken
Without any trace
Leaving no trail
Across the bridge of tomorrow
Where new beginnings unfold...
This is inspired by the poem
"OPEN DOOR", written by Serenity
A sweetNtalented PoetFriend
coco....I am so touched...right down to the mention of "eyelet"---I've more than a few of eyelet button down blouse--how incredibly you have touched my heart, and thank you can never be enough. "Hand-over-heart-bow" to you! Your words brought healing to me, I thank you. Much love to you.
and HEY YOU!!!! WELCOME BACK!!!
how cool to see your name here again sweet poet!!!!
youve been missed
Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.
Nice poem, Coco.  Mostly I must say I'm glad I have my sanity.  It showed this was your first post and yet I was certain a Coco was here before.  In reading the comments, my composure was regained.  Welcome back!
