Our date

take my hand, we have only this time
dress casual or formal, you always outshine
the others, dear, you are my flower
I'll fill the night within my power….

Dance with me?  Come on, let's trip
the light fantastic, soul, blues, that's it!
One rose for you? Oh, no, I think not
you deserve tons and bows in a knot.

I promised a loved one I would write again
to make her smile, myself to win?
I'm just a man, honest and true
I'm just a man, in love with you.

Who are you?   I'm so sorry, for we have
not been introduced, I'm acting suave
I'm closing now, the date is ours
meet me at 8 it's our special hour.

Let me fill  your evening just once
come on, I have it, I have a hunch
you and me, dancing till dawn
come along, let me try, just one chance,
or I'm ….gone. :
