I died tomorrow, breathed my final breath, fought long and hard, channeled my will to overcome the plights with which I suffered. I died tomorrow and no one cared, not a single soul mourned for me; my life a forgotten chunk of history, misplaced amongst the stories on shelves— undusted tales of macabre realities. I died tomorrow, all fragile and teary-eyed, wanting, awaiting, one final caress— a hand extended as a courtesy or simply curiosity. I died tomorrow with nothing left to give, though I tried so hard to search for a willing voice, and all I heard was the quickening echo of my last heartbeat. I died tomorrow for what others didn’t do today; I died tomorrow even though I yearned to stay. TkB Copyright © 2001 All Rights Reserved Dance with me under the moon. Touch my pale skin. Devour me. Embers - this was written up to your usual excellence. Bravo. "I am not now that which I have been." |
