Today the very winter's springing by,
dross snow leaves memory fossils. Needing touch
the bones deep marrow deals a trembling rush
like thrills of hidden treasure; and mud
from all the blackened snowbanks gathers and slides
from melting follicles. Deep in the earth
the flowing veins beneath the sunlight work
in churning seas of old. Spring songs all cry
with glorious mission, and the days now deal
a powerful old hand; soon from sky to all
with purpose does the blithe unpitying sun
cure soothing winds, the winds that speak surreal,
out of the height beyond the tradewind runs,
wandering and shrill, praising the burning Sol.

It's been too long! The tulips are showing...the crocus is glowing...

Ethome has come home!

Hi Ethome--I was so glad to see your name...and this poem is not your usual, I like it...of course I like all you write.  In this one the imagery and the free way in which you wrote it....very lovely.

Ethome, of course I saw the reference, but didn't want to presume any more than your poetic way of welcoming the return of Sol, and warmth!

Will we be graced with another penning today? Please?

What a wonderful title for this earthy, rejuvenating theme Ethome!  It's so great to read you again ... you have been missed, and this treasured verse is a beautiful example of "why", wonderful imagery!

Best wishes,

ETHome~
I hear that today, in your neck of the woods,
indeed the winter is in demise~

Lovely form from you to herald your return to the family circle.
Welcome home~
