ATTITUDE Virginia Salter Cat hair in my pancake dog do on the lawn anguish in the pantry life without a song Where is my perspective gnarled up in attitude colored by anxiety as ebony crude Fear of consequence while time clicks the day actions of negligence looking oft away Waiting for the moment to undo an error made an eternity in the making of dark and frightful shade With tiny inkling of hope that when the hour’s arrived my sanity and vanity will somehow have survived Closer opportunity promising element of peace soon my eyes and ears gain chance for sweet release What shall be the outcome a dark pit or sun-glazed hill a smile filled with joy or a somber, bitter pill. ©April 11, 2000 |

Virginia...so many of your poems indicate a spirit of thoughtfulness and integrity--I can tell that you are a person who turns an honest discerning eye to self and works hard DAILY on self improvement. I truly admire that and enjoy your work very much. |

I choose the smile. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |
