She walks in grace through life, with head held high,
above the clouds that gather near...
She’s learned to calm her inner storms,
that threatened her throughout her younger years...
Her body still invites the gaze of would-be lovers,
hoping for a chance...
Her life has been her melody...
Her heart her instrument...
It’s time to dance...

She greets the dawn with hopes and dreams,
that fill her with excitement every morn...
And deep inside her soul each day,
an old familiar dream becomes reborn...
She spends a moment looking back,
and smiling at the child with pen in hand...
The past becomes a melody...
She hums the tune...
And knows it’s time to dance...

It’s time to write the lyrics down,
they all were put aside because of life...
She grew up writing songs, but gave it up,
to be a mother and a wife...
But life goes on, and so her song was hushed,
within the dying of romance...
She overcame the pain,
and now the song is heard again...
It’s time to dance...

The music plays...she’s not afraid,
if others see she’s dancing out of time...
For it’s HER song, she wrote it, and,
the notes and lyrics sound to her...sublime...
She looks around to find that she is not alone,
and by some circumstance...
The floor is full around her,
swaying gently to her song...
It’s time to dance...

The dance will last forever now...
Her memories will never ever die...
Throughout this life into the next,
she’ll never need to ask the question: “Why?”...
She wrote her song from deep within her heart, her life...
It wasn’t just by chance...
The melody will play,
beyond this life...
Where time allows her heart to dance...

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

Beautiful, Sunnyone, absolutely beautiful!  This is like the epitome of the phrase advising..."Dance as if no one is looking!"  We all must find our time to dance, we all must find our joy.

Hi Gemini...
Your song will take shape over time...and when you find it, the melody will be so sweet that you too will begin to dance!! Just don't ever give up on writing it!!
(And thank you, my friend!!)

Hi Michael...

There is a time for everything, I have been writing and living my dances day by day....some days the dance is a graceful ballet, others a sad Opera, but I find serenity and peace in all....this is beatiful and I thank you for sharing your dance....

Within every dance is a song, and within that song is a poem, and within that poem are the thoughts coming from the heart of a writer!  Each song is alive and individual, and changing from moment to moment. And even when the writer fades away at the final moment, his/her dance continues on in the lives it touches!!  Thank you for your insight, my friend.....and keep dancing!!

~~~ Sunshine ~~~
You are full of life and warmth and love for your friends....I picture your dance as one you can tap your toes to, most definitely!
A sensual tango, or a calypso beat....always one with rich drums and colorful movement!!
Dance on, Sunshine...dance on!!
!!!!! !!!!!
Oh, I will...I've been writing songs for years...it's been the biggest part of my life!  I certainly thank you for the support, as that is always such a welcome comfort!!
~~~ Wynter ~~~
If the song is true, and love is a part of it, it will surely be the music that carries over into eternity......the music of the soul.    Thank you so much, my friend!!

Sunny - one with your warm heart will always walk with grace.  This is a very precious writing done only by one such as you.  And time will allow your heart to dance, this I would promise you.

Sunny

You have certainly outdone yourself this time.  You write such beautiful words and I can hear the melody in my mind and then my foot starts tapping.  Lovely - absolutely lovely.

Oh, I love this song...
This poem especially reminds me of swing music- theres the basics for the young, the tricks for those who know how to do the basics and all of it is fun:-)
