poem - motivation?

why do you write poetry?
does it burn inside,
and scream to be let out?
does it taunt and hide,
and cloud your mind with doubt?
or is it just there,
a clever phrase or word,
smooth wit or sharp ire,
that demands to be heard?

no demand, just sharing heart
for something that is so a part
of me, and mine, and thoughts unwind
and in sharing caring I find
