A Flicker to Allay Virginia Salter In the dark of night may dwell demons In the shadows may lurk evil and pain Stealthily may wickedness malinger with intent the life’s blood drain. Yet a tiny candle, with a wee flicker can carry a hope, giving light to see chasing fears into the distance away from you, from me As a melody may quiet trepidation a whistle lift a worried soul as solace may heal the rift and once again make us whole May I find a way to be a candle a flicker for a loved one lost a melody lilting through the wood quelling one who’s tossed By life and its trials absurdities and rage bringing beauty, once again, as to the desert, purple sage ©April 11, 2000 [This message has been edited by VAS (edited 04-18-2001).] |

This was lovely, but the last line...for some reason, didn't seem to belong...perhaps I just need to read again.... |

I think your candle does not flicker. Rather is burns brightly. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |

Thank you both. Sunshine, I've placed commas to better show what I meant...may I bring a flicker to one's heart as purple sage does to the desert. To me, purple sage is a bright spot in the desert. |
