In the Dusty Din of Time (repost) In the dusty din of time a mountain was a prairie fine and oceans joined and rivers strained then flowed into tall fields of grain In this that has been so immense it’s hard to think of minutes spent this rain that slants across my path climactic change might take at last ‘til the ground is parched and dry and carrion thrive as others die and rationed precious is the brew that now we pour without a clue or thought to what will ere become of that the bridge our life has strung for we have trouble thinking more than life beyond our own front door In the dusty din of time this land of ours will show the sign and what was mountain might be stream for change is part of life it seems How could this lasting loving earth be better for this thoughtful verse? "or we have trouble thinking more then life beyond our own front door" "How could this lasting loving earth be better for this thoughtful verse?" Ah Martie ... this earth "can" be better ... for this verse reminds me that others feel as I do. She is a fragile creation, and we, her caretakers. Thank you for reminding me so beautifully. Best wishes, /Kit |

Martie~ Just so beautiful is your verse~ I wish that I - had said it first~ 'for change is part of life it seems' May we not change 'her' so much that we forget what 'she' looked like. Every verse helps raise someone's consciousness. Thank you, Martie~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Martie, You are the queen of imagery. :-) I like what this one has to say. Good work here, my friend. Michael Proust- |

How could this lasting loving earth be better for this thoughtful verse? Because to do nothing, to remain silent, is to condone and continue the harm inflicted. Such a beautiful verse you've given us, Martie... such a wonderful reminder. |
