Six Flags Over Texas Was always good to me Brought my wife on our first date And now the family Six flags Over Texas Since tall enough to ride Speeding down I-30 My eyes were staring wide It's been quite a few years Since we’ve all come here The rides still tower high And they cause a quake of fear The Shockwave’s loopty loops And clacking Judge Roy Scream We feel like we are kids again Or maybe in a dream Which ride will be our first We open up the map My wife needs a restroom break And I already need a nap Tis forty years of Six Flags We've not been in over ten All the people in the line Are they the same we saw back then Used to be a thing we did The Log Ride was always first We’d dip our hands in the water And relieve ourselves of thirst We scanned the map all over We couldn’t find the ride My little child inside of me Quite nearly up and cried Now it’s called Ozarka Splash Are the Ozarks in Mexico Maybe they thought they’d name it And nobody’d ever know My wife began to chatter I asked to see the matter She told me the ole Cliffhanger Was now called the new Wildcatter Oh Six Flags Over Texas You were always good to me But where once stood the Bobsled La Vibora, I now see The kids were in their bliss They didn’t know there was a change Everything was new to them Although to us was strange The ghost of the Spinnaker And the phantom Spindletop We’ll ride every thing we can And the fun will never stop Oh Six Flags Over Texas The door to my inner child Even Hurricane Harbor now Used to be called Wet and Wild Then I woke up quickly And I was happy and alive On the Log Ride high with you And it’s 1985. Oh Six Flags Over Texas You’re a dream that will come true And even though you always change We’ll always come back to you In 1985 I got my first real kiss On the good ole Log Ride Call it what you wish Oh, Six Flags Over Texas You were always good to me Brought my wife on our first date And now the family [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 04-15-2001).] |

As a kid I lived in Bedford, TX so close to Six Flags, but never did I get to go. Made up for it, went to Astro World in Houston on my honeymoon. I was young what can I say!!! |

Ahhhh Walt ... I knew there was a kindred spirit somewhere in here. Rides, rides, rides ... I've not been to 6 Flags specifically, but soooo many other places. I'm a ride fiend, a bungy jumper, and a Disney World fanatic. To go back after so many years and reminisce ... nothing like it my friend. You've brought back so many memories for me with this piece, I loved it! I now need a roller-coaster fix, pass the adrenaline please! Best wishes, /Kit |
