Silent Plea I listened as she softly whispered her plea, "Dear Lord above, could you please help me?" I could hear the growing desperation in her voice, she felt so alone, like she had been left no choice. In her eyes I could see the torment and so much pain, her tears began to flow down, like the pouring of the rain. In her soul there was a struggle, residing deep within, once, just once, she wished that she could somehow win. She sat in total silence, as her eyes searched into mine, I offered words of comfort, to help ease her weary mind. After a brief pause she slowly began to speak, and with her next words, I could feel my heart grow weak. I couldn't stop my tears, yes I began to cry; as she said these words, "I hope that God let's me know love, just once before I die." © 02-10-2000 dmsmith On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free. |

"I hope that God let's me know love, just once before I die." Yes I think that one plea would bring tears to even the hardest of hearts. |

when we ask. . . we are heard. . . from the heart D. . . -------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Hopeful words and prayer. A sad poem and a caring friend. |
