my attempt to drown
myself
has gone awry
as i have already
drowned in these
forsaken memories.
i remember exactly
how it feels
to drag my fingers
lightly down
the side of your face,
or what its like
to entwine my fingers
into your hair;
how you were always
concerned about me
messing it up;
and i recall
what its like
to kiss your chest
and how wonderful
you smelt to me.
whenever i see snow now
i cant help
but think of you.
i dont understand
how you could
possibly forget
what we had.
and thats what happened,
you know,
you forgot.
you forgot what it was like
to hold me
knowing that you
loved me
and i loved you.
but that doesnt matter
anymore.
nothing matters
except you.
how you feel,
what you think,
what you want,
those are the only things
that matter.
you dont care
that i love you,
that id go out of my way
for you,
or that id give
everything for you.
none of that matters
because you are getting
what you want.
