What terrors now await me in these dreams? What monstrous visions fed on silent fears Will rend me as I wait within the night Until the daybreak reinstates my sight? And who will hear my desperate dying screams? Asleep, alone and bathed in futile tears While others merry-make and soon forget The lessons of the decadent, deceased At last from dark imaginings released And laid upon their melancholy biers Imprisoned in this cell of past regret Restricted by these bars of future dread (The revelers above pay little mind To what is unredeemed and left behind) As I lay rotting in this oubliette Sing while you may |

Great read--for all it's darkness, it flows very smoothly, and may sweet dreams come to you! |

Wonderful use of dark images! You made me feel the isolation. One senses the hole futility throws us into, while the world continues, oblivious. |

Thank you all! I am somewhat overwhelmed by the response this recieved. The first line came to me in a flash and I had to force out the rest. I must say that I don't consider this my best work. But, thank you all once again! Ian Sing while you may |
