No arms to hold me when I cry
No lips to scold me when I lie
No one to reach out when I sigh
I guess that is the reason why
I am no one's child

No yielding of my heart in trust
No forgiveness and I must
Be bad, to suffer father's lust
Mem'ries cut like sculptured bust
Because I'm no one's child

No fond and joyful times for me
No place for childhood do I see;
But pain and guilt and misery
Are too full cups of bile to me;
For I am no one's child

All my guilt and pain and sin
Are evidenced in my suffering
Now I find it hard to grin
It seems as if I never win
When I am no one's child

Relationships have all gone bad
Loving always makes me sad
And they think that I've gone mad
From  darkest history I've had
Being no one's child

How much I want to grow and fly
Reach the stars touch the sky
Instead, remember days gone by
When no one held me close to cry;
That's why I'm no-one's child.

Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life.  Patty Hansen.

We are all children of God.
Whomever, or however we may picture a "Supreme Being", is where the controversy comes in. lol

"Charles Darwin said, "God created man in his own image, and man being a gentleman, returned the compliment."

Hope this cheers you up a little.
Sounds like you deserve some laughter.
Thanks for the poignant read.

I could have written this, I lived every word..

I also lived every word of this sooo sad poem.  Sweetie, you are not alone.  Your poems are a blessing to write the hurt and send it away.  I did not have a childhood, I was too busy trying not to be hurt.

I also feel like my past somehow is still affecting me...and it probably has helped to shape my personality...but still I have hope that I control my destiny and not the thoughts of my past...James

Sven answered it perfectly exactly as I would have.
I'll quote a Jim Morrison/Doors song "You're not your Mother's or you're father's child, you're OUR child" to finish it, "A Passion's Child".  We cannot hold you physically but we sure as hell can emotionally... *hugs*.
You know I have a *hug* for you each day hon..

Isis,
Thanks for virtual hugs now if I could only get someone to touch me in real life.

felt this way many times in my younger years. It hurts like hell, I know. This was a wonderful expression what too many children, teens, anybody, really feels like at times.

Jennis,
it's hard to write, sometimes it's harder not to write, so I will continue as long as the words leak out.
