I live within the dark abyss I do not know it's depth And everyday I'm wary That I should not misstep It is an endless cavern A realm of vast extent Should I lose myself and fall I can't control descent I hardly stumble anymore I've learned to mark the ledges And drag my hands along the walls So I can find the edges Everyday I start the climb A captured soul ascending And one day I will come to light A tortured heart transcended |

It's too bad things have to be this way, so true. Good work. |

You know, the part about the realm of vast extent, it sort of reminds me of the existentialist "condemned to freedom" idea of Sartre and some of those guys. sort of like "lost in to great of liberty." But then the ending, a sort of tenacious groping for whatever ... a kind of promised land, maybe. |

Nice movement from the depths of darkness to light...I loved the transition. These lines really stuck with me: "Everyday I start the climb A captured soul ascending And one day I will come to light A tortured heart transcended" Jellybean King |
