A butterfly followed me home yesterday
    She didn’t know where to go, she couldn’t play.
I said, “Follow me if you want to live another day.”
    She landed on my shoulder and I didn’t want to brush her away.

We walked softly, watching leaves fall to the ground
    With the fallacy of irony of the leaves finally unbound.
We still couldn’t smile, beauty lying all around,
    We were weeping and were crying because we didn’t want to be alone.

The butterfly stayed until I died the very next day;
    I stood there smiling but she didn’t want it to stay.
I couldn’t help it, I just wanted her to live some other day
    She took off because I didn’t want to brush her away.

ahh Mike, yet you had each other here for a spell . . .

the butterfly stayed until I died the very next day. Liked this a lot. Nice write.
