IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY DAD:
(DECEMBER 2, 1948 - JULY 19, 2003)

Up in the sky,
a billion miles away.
Or here by my side,
wishing you would stay.
I will forever,
feel the guilt,
in this lonliness,
here I've built.
A million sorry's,
won't bring you back.
No matter how much I love you,
my heart is stained black.
It happened too fast.
It happened too soon.
Please give me one more day,
just one more afternoon.
In that last second,
I held your hand.
Felt you slip away,
like hourglass sand.
All the things,
I wish I would've said,
pouring down like rain,
in these tears I now shed.
I cry for you.
I cry for me.
I cry for those,
who didn't see.
Those who I took you from.
Those who couldn't come.
Missing out in your last days.
Grieving you in many ways.
I love you dad,
wish you didn't have to go.
I miss you dad,
but yet I know...
You are in a better place,
all your pain has been erased.
You can now run, and dance, and play.
Sing with the great ones,
and enjoy the day.
Be with grandma and grandpa again.
Smile and laugh,
maybe meet a new friend.
It was your time to go,
I guess.
As for these last months we've shared in,
I'm blessed.

~My father died in his sleep that day--he got his only wish-to die at home & i feel blessed for being the one to give it to him (instead of letting him be sent to some nursing home) My father was parapeligic, paralyzed from the waist down due to some very rare condition (with ony 2 other known cases, who died in the early stages) Doctors learned a lot through my dad about the medical world in these past 6 years of his condition, I've learned a lot about life in these past 5 months that I have had the chance to have taken care of him!!~

I'm not asking for your sympathy, just one small promise--don't take the family & friends you have for granted, cherish every last moment you get!! I love you dad!!! RIP~~I know you haven't had use of your legs these past couple years, but now you have eternal wings!!

Yes, he surely rests peacefully.
I'm equally sure that your care allowed him to keep his dignity and his humanity in his final days.
There is no finer gift...Love

No pity here, only condolencses. Be happy that you are his daughter, and he loves you.

My Heart goes out to you with this beautiful piece
