Will I ever again wake up in your arms, and feel your warm breath on my cheek? Your absence from me so loudly resounds that for now all my moments are bleak How little I know of the ways of the heart; how much of the pain in my soul Must we forever be so far apart that I’ll never achieve my heart’s goal? I tell myself no, that my heart will survive (such faith in the power of love) but into an abyss with no bottom doth dive a sullied and tired white dove The torment that rages inside of my head digs deep and broad chasms of pain; how can I live when to you my love’s dead, and what can I do to revive it again? As pieces of me whirl about in a storm; no front, back, up, down, left or right, surrounded by fragments of dreams that I’ve borne when pictures of you fill my thoughts in the night My heart is a leaf in the winds of your soul; pulled by the forces I seek to defy I’m drowning in oceans of tears black as coal; my love is too deep to just wither and die |
