Between a laugh and a tear...

Senses

Did you hear that whispered cry?
Those echoes of degradation
As pungent tears surged forth
expelled in memoried murmurs
from a melancholy soul
The beleaguered sighs
seized by the last tormented gasp
Released in anguished liberation,
to taste the bittersweet goodbye
Left to savour the offerings
of an unadulterated love
To taste the scent
of the crimson skies
As the sweet aroma
enthrals the senses
Softly beckoning closer
ever closer
In a promise of
enlightenment
That final
freedom!

And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand ~ Bernie Taupin

Nice way to look at the situation. Liked the way you approached it. You expressed the feel of freedom from the onset of the poem. Nice write.

Freedom wasn't the original thought with this one but I see your point. Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts!

Yes, but freedom from what? Thank you my friend. Good to see you reading again, now if we can just get you to write!

"In a promise of enlightenment that final freedom"

I believe that each person that reads something, interprets it differently than the next.  To me, this piece is about  death.  I only wish I knew the answer to the one phrase above.  Is there any final freedom and does the promise really exist?  I enjoyed this much!

So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC
