Between a laugh and a tear...

The Journeyman

Sun struggled through the bloodied haze
as the winds they forged ahead
Overwhelming the harshness
of the beleaguered dreamscape
Quenching the very lives
of those who once thought they knew
I sear in sallowed thoughts
of things that might have been
had I only been another man
Watching now in circumspect retro-vision
at the desolation of their souls
The chosen, those lucky few
who came not to know me!

And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand ~ Bernie Taupin

Well this must be fiction..cuz Im damned glad I got to know ye

All moth teasing aside this is a very cool write POET SIR.....
the imagery is vivid and stark in its impressive level of emote.

You intented the poetic drama and melancholy and achieved it well with your images...very well done groovy one.

All I can feel is this distance between you and me.
I can say I love you but I can't make you believe me
because touching is believing.

Let the poetry free your heart of pain, let it wash the tears from your eyes and the hurt from your soul...write it and release it~  Your poetry has grown with each verse and deepened with each word.  You my dear friend are a treasure to behold and a blessing in my life.  And all that know you....know this~

Unfortunately, I believe that in the end, as I think this to be about, I will not be one of the "lucky few".  Rather, I tend to believe that I will be one of the "suckers", who thought they knew, lol.  However, I refuse to believe for insurance sake, as I'm sure belief based on fear alone, will do me no good.  I really enjoy poetry that starts me thinking, yours do.

So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC
