Without A Trace

On this lonely night, my thoughts are only of you.
As I hold your perfect picture in my soiled hands.
Reflecting on so many things we shared.
When my wildest dreams cametrue.

I sit here gazing at the raging rapids below,
and I wonder, "How will you remember me?"
As the one true love you forced away?
Or the coward, too weak and frightened to stay?

Now I stand, staring up at the stars,
but all I can think of are these god-forsaken scars.
Left over from wounds that can never fully heal.
The ones you left me with, forever to conceal.

Here in the dark I'll descend, hoping to set my soul free.
After one last breath, I leave my life behind me.
The wind whips my hair against my paling face,
as I depart from this world; gone... without a trace.

hi and welcome, very goood poem, i like...so much emotion, powerful, raw...
"Here in the dark I'll descend, hoping to set my soul free.
After one last breath, I leave my life behind me.
The wind whips my hair against my paling face,
as I depart from this world; gone... without a trace."
can't wait to see more of you...
