Waiting

I can smell your cologne
A reminder of memories
Trapped under the sorrows that
Follow me through my days
Trailing behind with soft whispers
Wanting to overtake my thoughts
Constant fighting in the darkness
Of my lace webbed mind
Echoing screams slither their
Hypnotic dance as I wait for
The elusive silence.

"wake me up inside
call my name and save me from the dark"
-Bring Me To Life by Evanescence

Memories and sorrows and ... yes, this belongs in the dark. Well done!
