I stood outside the fire, Watching the flame. Pushing away the darkness, Keeping it tame, I watch as the fire does die, The darkness growing. Did the darkness kill the light, Know way of knowing. I watched as the embers go out, Despite all I tried. The darkness enfolds me, My last hope has died. In time I become a creature of night, No longer needing instead fearing the light. Of all I've lost; I miss my innocence the most. |

Ada'doLisdo'ti, I really liked the feel of this sort of blue and morose without slipping into despair. Did you mean to spell 'Know' that way in line eight because it makes a great play on words but it doesn't sound planned. Anyway I liked this and hope to read more of your work. I meant to spell it that way but it’s an unintentional play on words. Of all I've lost; I miss my innocence the most. |
