Just one Beer

Just one beer and I'll be fine
need to ease these problems on my mind
Just one more beer
and i swear i'll stop

I have the time
it's only 6 o'clock
Your eyes glaze red
and your breathe smells bad

With slurred words
you say"Goodbye!"
Nobody tries to stop you
even though you're smashed

Walking isn't easy
you almost fall down
With fumbling fingers,
you start the ignition

You tell yourself"Home isn't that far!"
the car swerves from left to right
Too drunk from the alcohol
you pass out at the wheel

Hitting another car
as you car slides
the ending-two victims gone
Because of one beer!

Wow! That one says it all. That one drink that really takes you over the top is a KILLER for sure. Well done.

Yes most can't stop at just one or two or three...and so they become a menace to society...James

this one is just right for the holiday season, what with all the partying, it's good to be reminded of the tragic consequences which may result from "just one beer"..

This poem scares me just because I have someone VERY close to me that drinks and sometimes drives home, and I get so scared that that special someone won't make it home one night. I like this though because it totally speaks the truth, One beer can mean never seeing someone you love again.
