my angel's wings keep me warm last time ill fight this horrible storm i tried hard i believe in heaven crimson stains his wings again my eyes are fogged with tears of blood you never knew how much i cried you never knew how bad it hurt you never saw me that one last time i smashed the mirrors and wrote this rhyme for all to see why my angels wings are smeared with blood he couldnt scream noone hears my angels pleas but noone cared to hear but me he held me long until i slept mother found me, but no tears she wept she knew my secrets she saw my heart she heard my angel, but didnt stop she kept on staring into space instead held an image of you in her head she knew the worst was yet to come but this was better--a muse's song turn your eyes for this may hurt i walked away from god and church i never begged for help when i knew my end was near--no future soon bloody tears tell my story my angel watched my life roll on wrapped in crimson wings stories go on tell me now what could have been if you only would have stopped to listen to what i said and what i cried my angel fell from heaven and died crimson tears stain his wings dont hold on my love i can never hold you again |

So tragic and despairing, and very expressive. Can't the angel find any hope at all, I wonder? Reminds me of Graham Greene's novels. |
