When I close my eyes I want to hide in the darkness, That caresses the constant pain, For where is this leading? A bag of grass, and some papers With a fifth of gin to tag along, She sings the same old song to me Words repeating through my soul "Tell me where your going Tell me where you've been Tell me where you are And I will tell you this The only thing in life That leads the rope astray Is forgiving to forget Never live in your regret" Do I make sense of nonsense Running amuck in wild fields, Or do I let it sprint to the waters edge And watch it take a drink And bask in its revolting glory, Dismissing the ordinary to leaves in the wind As they float by my head to a destiny unknown, Laughing at my insecure thoughts, At a life less ordinary, But not worth dismissing These thoughts in the streams that float by And I try to make sense of this As if I can be alone with my thoughts That keep haunting me till death. And my last breath shall wheeze Nothing more than demons. |
