You just don't get it,
do you?

People aren't disposable toys
you can throw away
when you're tired of play
and you want to move on with your day.

Hearts aren't those cute little
pink and red cutouts
you paste on a lacy doily
then throw away
after Valentine's Day
because the edges are frayed.

And Love isn't just some pleasant word
that got you laid
by some romantic heart that stumbled
into your lair on a rainy day
reading Webster and Roget
at the college library.

And forever means more than a day.

But you just don't get it,
do you?

This is so true. Some just don't get it. They may promise it, but then, they're gone. I think they just don't know..This is a great write.
