Night Wings Loathing the darkness of a moonless night, a black hole in my universe unblinkingly swallows me whole my thoughts drum in cadence of my enemy serenading me with sinister songs of doubt and bleak despair ripping my heart into bloody fragmented pieces for sacrificial savoring in obscure darkness The insanity of night shouting with angry animosities and vulgar insinuations. memories with claws and bloodied fangs How achingly alone... to lie awake for hours staring, yet not seeing, yet.... In a cruel dream as it were... My captors rushing me to the precipice of labyrinths taunting words of promises not kept seeking to cruelly throw me to the ravenous lions I welcome them as dear children while my desparate heart still wildly beats a tattoo into my chest... Yet...in the distance, I hear the meadow lark sweetly singing of new morning dawn. Poetry is: |

I was quite swept up by this; it seems to me like you aren't the type to stay down long though. The last few lines seemed as if you were remembering your way back, or perhaps discovering the real purpose of your Ruby slippers! |
