"LOOK at me when I talk to you! Don't turn away from me!" I can smell the whisky on his breath I can feel his heavy hand land on my shoulder CRUSHING the delicate bone structure I got from my mother My dead mother I feel sickness coming up my throat He senses none of it He looks right through my skull If there's anything going on inside his head It's the question of where the booze is going to come from next And just how he's going to get it I'm melting away now I'm a puddle on the floor next to my brother's urine I didn't get a chance to clean it up before HE came home Now I have to pay "I can't wait to leave" Oh my GOD NO! Did I say that out loud? "You Can FORGET ABOUT THAT!" He says So once again I am Forgetting about it Just FORGETTING about me What's so special about me? NO! I WON'T give up that easily I just want to tell him right now to [profanity edited] off But I have to go to work tomorrow I can't afford not to work I can control myself I remember what the councelour who came to my school said. I can control my actions He relaxes his grip and pushes me aside Turns on the black and white tv Opens up a can of beer He had hidden in the fridge Just waiting for a special occassion I guess this was as good as any At least my hip is still in tact Joy - I edited out your profanity as it goes against the philosophy of passions, and also our guidelines. Thanks for your understanding - email me if you have any questions. Cheers - Severn... [This message has been edited by Severn (edited 01-13-2001).] |

Gosh ... I hope you are not writing this from your own personal experience ... Gave me the chills when I tried to visualise the whole scene in my head ... ~regina. |

I too pray that you are not living this and that its coming from somewhere else it is chilling and would be a horrid way to have to live. All souls are special even when they dont realize it. I will pray that this is not a personal experience for you. |

That's fine, Severn. I didn't really think it was bad since I didn't actualy put the word in, but whatever you have to do is fine. No, this isn't happening to me but to someone I used to know. It's very scary, and I was in darkness myself and all these feelings surfaced and this is what ended up. I figured this was where to post it. But maybe if it is offensive or upsets anyone too much you may delete it if you see fit. Joy |

Hey Joy - this is the place indeed. I am quite sure I upset quite a few people by deleting any words that are asterixed out...unfortunately, that's the way it is. Guidelines are guidelines. Rules are rules. Profanity is profanity. When I see a word that looks like this: **** etc - I have to delete it. That is part of what I have to do as a moderator. If the word in question was NOT a swearword - then email me with it - and I can take it to Ron and find out why the heck it was asterixed out. The profanity filter is usually accurate - Ron tests it regularly. When I edit it it still appears as **** so I have no way of knowing what the word really is. Now, as to the entire thing being inappropriate - if that were the case, it would be locked temporarily and discussed in mods. The poem is fine, the word the system picked out was not. But like I said - if it wasn't a swearword, then email me with what the word is and we will check it with Ron and try to determine why the system is picking it out. Thanks Severn |

Joy what a life your poor friend lived! I feel so sorry for her and anyone stuck in such a voilent horrendous situation. You sort of honoured her here and that is a wonderful thing. a hero is a man who does what he can! Isis *The heart of education is the education of the heart...* ~Isis~~Sovereign of the Spirit. |

As I am one who is totally against cencorship of any kind since we talk about betrayal, suicidal thoughts, murderous thoughts I have read here, drenched in wonder, urine, and blood, this should have been left as is. This was a wonderful yet tragic tale of what is going on all over the world. Many people are the innocent victims of alcoholism and other substance abuses. I don't read many but for some reason I dropped in on this one. Am glad I did Great work! Jeremy "Those little slices of death, how I loathe them." -Edgar Allen Poe |

I'm confused, Jeremy. If you are "totally against censorship of any kind," why do you continue to post at Passions? There is and always will be a line drawn in the sand here, as was unequivocally explained in the TOS you agreed to when you joined, as is confirmed in even greater detail in our Guidelines. This is our home, and we will always determine how best to furnish it. Those of like minds, who honestly feel comfortable in this décor, will make it their homes, too. But I would fully expect those who find the chairs too stiff or the carpets too dull to find a home more suited to their own tastes. Not everyone stays at the same hotels or eats at the same restaurants, and not everyone is going to feel comfortable with the values at Passions. That's just the way it is in life. Don't misunderstand, Jeremy, I'm not asking you to leave. But as someone who is totally against censorship of any kind, why do you - in good conscience - continue to stay? |
