I am everywhere

I'm in this downward spiral.
I’m gravitating to the floor,
but instead of stopping there,
i hit the core of there earth.
There, my soul is burnt to ashes,
but i survive.
Now, soulless,
i live not only alone,
but empty.

..the.space.between.a.blink.and.a.tear..
...death blooms...

I'm telling you,
if you don't know Trent Reznor yet
get acquainted.

Thanks to all.

Mike will tell you, but he writes for Nine Inch Nails. Ragged angsty stuff.
He once told me the same, that's the only reason I know who he is.

anyway, you grow more confident. (in your writing, at least)

Ah, but the words he writes
are transformed
by the music texture-maps
behind him.

Anyway, here's the lyrics
to one of my favorite songs by him
(I wish I'd written something like it):

The Day the World Went Away
I'd listen to the words he'd say
but in his voice, I heard decay.
The plastic face forced to portray.
All the insides left cold and gray.
There is a place that still remains.
It eats the fear; it eats the pain.
The sweetest price you'll have to pay.
The day the whole world went away.

Now imagine the most queasy sounding, crushing music
overlayed/underlayed/through-layed.
And you've got the song.

(also see I'm Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally)

Phew.

Anyway, when I was a teen?
NIN helped save my life.

And as you can see by Drive slow, clouds;
I mean that literally.

God, Mike, I'm so stupid.
I know Nine Inch Nails, I know Trent too. (not in person, but you know..)
Names tend to slip my mind constantly.
But yes, they have some of the best lyrics I've heard. One of my 'signatures' used to be a verse from "Perfect Drug".
My brother has… 9 or more (a rough estimate...but I know it's all of them) of those little import things with 3 or 4 songs on them.
That's the thing though.. Two of their CD's are called "The downward Spiral" and "Further down the spiral" and I realized that after I wrote this..
Anyway.. Thanks again.
