Torture Of The Night Cold reddened eyes stare deep into me Searching the darkened depths of my core Its morbid breath penetrates my rising lungs As my hearts frightened rhythm takes an undecided detour. Back into those flaming eyes I stare With determination and strength concealed within my plight As his claws seep deep into my veins and skin All is quiet among the darkened torture of the night. The blood slowly squeezes through the pours of my cells And fills the watery liquid of my bulging red eyes Choking on the blockage buried within my clenched off throat Scuffing out temptations to painfully scream and cry. Visions fading into darkness for lack of flow to the brain A bloodthirsty demon taking life as my fate Making the torture of the night my final drawing breath Lying limp within his grasp, his strength did painfully demonstrate. Hello. I liked this piece...I was expecting the person to wake up and realize it was only a dream, but the ending was obviously not that! Still, I enjoyed the surprise. Keep up the good work! "cherry blossoms" |

Welcome, Amy. This poem was intense. And almost, offhanded in its undoing. Damn. Mike |
