All is safe now.
I've gotten you out of there and you no longer
have to worry about the monsters of the night
and plagues of the daytime trying to extract
what you know for their purposes of war and family.

The business is done.
The debts are paid and I've gotten you to a place
where they won't look, where you can live in
peace without their constant badgering and
poking and prodding at you and sobbingly blubbering.

I've even tricked it.
It's a trick of the mind, so you won't know they
were ever there, so you won't know what caused
the strange fears you may feel in the future, the
odd sense of familiarity you feel at certain words.

I've included here some books.  They're logbooks
from the past.  You can open them at your own risk.
Just don't get some altruistic sense of forgiveness,
that you can right what was done wrong.  You can't.

I've tried.
What's done is done.
It's their problem,
not yours.

PS:  Open this letter at your own risk.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Hmmm...am mildly befuddled by this piece. Don't get me wrong: It's quite interesting and I enjoyed reading it. But I have thought up of a number of possibilities as to what this piece could mean, so it's kinda confusing me right now. In any event, I really enjoyed this piece, and I found it to be rather thought-provoking. Thanks!

F7,
God that was good...
Reminds me of seeing Memento,
only *deep*,
with no sleight.
