the quiet ache, the slow fall, the tumble-spin of debris. faces sheered off two buildings, crumbled forms into the street. dust and ash, the stink of death, cars crushed in their settled tombs. fragile fire, smoke-thin air in the face of these dark blooms. holding hands in these smashed rooms. falling earthward through old ruins. |
