somebody's dungeon

If I could pull
from inside
this beast you placed
strategically
I would.

I would show it
in all it's horror
to you on a platter
of silver
(yes just like the gift)
and let you see
the monster
of indifference
it has become.

I'd show you the lack
of trust
the digs and don'ts
the habits you kicked
through me.

I'd even show you
all the stress

a mountain of stress
you never felt
for upon arrival
you dumped it in
with the beast
for what
I'm not sure
nor do I care.

And that
that is the
wretched truth
of it all
at last.

The beast took
the love
the caring
and all the rest
of what I felt for you
and destroyed it
as payment
for passage across
the bridge
to escape.

And you stay fine
in your world
minus the pain
that went with me

as the beast still lives
in all his damnable glory
within me.
