somebody's dungeon

I'm within the pale

the softer shades
of what was
the bright
panoramic
of loving color

where once

spread in a spectrum
on wall of pure

white

was love
so arrayed

I took

and I took

until

all color drained

love died
the death
of color fade

now within

captured

by charcoal of gray

olive of green

without the sheen

the majesty
of the rainbow
show

shadows of color
only linger

to hang on
as haunting reminder
of what once was.

This is so wistful---so masterfully done. My breathing quieted as I took in the images and experienced the feeling of sadness.
